Young people in a tent city at the center of Cairo's Tahrir Square chanted a song from the 1950s, with words updated to refer to their revolution, saying they want to return Egypt to what they see as its former glory.Tension rose in Egypt Tuesday with a tough statement from the interim government and a march on a main government building where the prime minister and his Cabinet have their offices.7月12日(星期二),埃及局势因为临时政府的一项强硬谈话而更加紧张。 Young people in a tent city at the center of Cairo's Tahrir Square chanted a song from the 1950s, with words updated to refer to their revolution, saying they want to return Egypt to what they see as its former glory. While they sang, people of all ages flowed through civilian checkpoints into the square in response to a call by activist groups for yet another large protest. The people complain that the ruling military council and Prime Minister Essam Sharaf are not moving fast enough to implement reforms and to put former regime members and security officers on trial. On Monday, the prime minister promised to reshuffle his Cabinet and appoint new regional governors by Sunday. He said he will resign if he does not achieve that. Later, the government announced that the Cabinet reshuffle had begun, with the resignation of the prime minister's deputy, and said meetings were under way to decide on further changes. Also, an Egyptian court on Tuesday convicted a former prime minister and two Cabinet ministers of corruption and sentenced them to up to 10 years in jail. The three served under ex-President Hosni Mubarak who also faces corruption-related charges and resigned in February. The feeling of blocking a shot, in that moment, you leave feet and you go up, once your hand makes contact to that ball, you see that ball back the other way, you know this is a sign of you know “not in my house, not right now”,“Dwyane Wade with another spectacular block!”One thing I enjoy about shot blocking, when I was in high school, in college, simple fact is I’m not supposed to be a shot blocker. With me being 64 block someone shot is 7, you know is all about timing and the right time to jump. I’ll tell you up.He’s got great instinct for such a guard player, 6'4, he’s got great leg, great athlete ability but incredible courage.Actually as a shot blocker, you should know how to maintain, I don’t care about your dunk doing, I am gonna save the position.“What a block by Dwyane Wade!”This season we didn’t have a big at all at the begin of the season, like alonzo, like Shaquille O'Neal, so I have to go on to help our team even more. Our normal defence schemes have our weak side guys come over, put the body in front of the people, a lot of times it take a charge, but with Dwyane early on, he kept on coming over and coming to block shots, so we have to alter our defence.I get a lot owner balls as well, you know when a guy try to pull up on me, time is some time.“Terrific timing!”I give them a lot, I get them on a break, just one on one, I chase somebody down, and want a time to get him.I say one of the memorable blocks in my career would probably be the one on Amare Stoudemire, because when I block it, I grab it and do it up.This season I’ll have to say two blocks back to back on a rookie in New Jersey, Brook Lopez.Lopez is there at the ring pretty much by himself, Dwyane came over and was able to block it to seal the win for us.Of course, nothing gets your team fired up more than a dunk, but nothing gets me fired up more than giving a unbelievable block to save the game.I’m not a Mutombo kind of guy when I do this, because you know I’m not 7, but I’m a guy who tried to make sure they think about it when they come down.“Well, there is the best shot blocking guard in the world!”04/67199Michael Kors joins In Style's Katrina Szish to discuss shoes, beach bums and politics before presenting his collection. Gov. Sarah Palin says success on a local level exemplifies experienceWe are backstage with Michael Kors, just moments before show. And I noticed up there, it says something about the most glamorous beach bums in the world.Boy, isn't that my fantasy? I don't know, maybe everyone's. To me, you know, it's interesting , now it's funny. I guess, sinc the internet, you know, I know more and more people especially in New York and L.A, who ,you know, they live in the Hampton and see around while in L.A. , people are moving malleable. And I'm like, wait a minute. What am I doing wrong? Rough life.Right, exactyly. So you know, there's definitely, I wanna this to be very American . I think there are to many, honestly, there are too many collections in New York that try to look up to European. And I think that, hey ,we invented the way the world dresses. You know, Americans invent the idea of comfort and speed and easiness. So, it's really very much about that. You know, atheleticism, architecture. But again, architecture, that's kind of user-friendly. This cloth gets too architectural sometimes , it'll get a little frightening .But it's all that optimism. Now, I took a look at some of the shoes over there. They did have an architecture feel to them. But they were still very user-friendly, kind of that, as you said. Tell me a litte bit about the fine architectural heel.Well, you know, the odd thing is you know, it's shoes. I don't know one that on the planet who doesn't say,oh I wanna be taller , I wanna be taller. But of course, you know, crazy high heels are first of course--not that easy to walk in. So we really dealt with these sculptural platforms. And i want to keep them sporty though. So , kind of the architectural bottom, and then you have the spoty top of the shoe. So it's great with the dress, it looks great with the jeans. Because, again, you know, isn't that really the ideas , I think,a fashion that is versatile. So you can mix it, wear however you wanna wear it. And again, it's the Ying and Yang. It's the architecture with the sporty. There is always something that makes it kind of user-friendly. You are the first person who ever taught me about fashioh math that if you buys, you invest in a piece and you wear a thousand times versus buying something cheap and wearing once, you are making a good investment . Do you still think about investment pieces, especially in this economy, but even when you are designing something that more glamourous?I think that's the one thing we are finding more and more and more. You know, it's not just about a classic. Becasue if it's super classic, i have one sitting in the closet,so that doesn't turn me on. But then if it's so out there. You know, I'm gonna wear once. So right now, I think with this economy. People want something that's fresh and exciting, changes their wardrobe but still has versatilities. And fabric is key. So I always said to you: buy the best quality you could buy and also we talk about eco-fashion,what's green? Well, it's certainly not green to buy cheap-cheap cloth, wear them once, and throw them out. What's green, is to buy something that's beautifully made, beautifully crafted and wear it for years. You know that's what's green.eco-fashion:One of the tenets of the unofficial definition of eco-fashion is this: takes into account the working conditions of people in the fashion . (fashion that's green)Every one is also talking about the election of course, policitics and fashion. People are asking is it really fair to be questioning the personal style or something like that Sara Palin, even talking about the first lady. How important is fashion in politics? I don't know, that it's about fashion per se politics nor do I know that it should be. I think it's about, though, what's works on camera. So that's not about the fashion with the capital F.It's about really, I think, what also can make the person feel more confident. But I always think, what I do, you know, kind of give you a visit to the strength, without going to the strength. And you know, politicians are so dissected. So if they are wearing the right suit, with the right dress, the right color, the right tie. That can make them feel better at campaign, they can perform at the debate better. You know, and all of those things are very important, but fashion with a capital F, you know I'm not voting for the fashion designer or stylist. You know, I want someone smarter than me, and not quite as absorbed in the fashion. That's what's important to me. 200811/54790High-tech ATM theft ATM黑客 Criminals are using more sophisticated methods than ever before to gain access to ATM customers' PIN numbers. It’s a new kind of bank robbery; Hackers breaking into ATM machines through holes of computer software, stealing money from variety of Bank Accounts. It’s something you probably take for granted that when you use an ATM machine and enter your personal pin code. That secret number stays between you and your bank. Think again!? We’re at a tipping point when this actually became a serious problem. It happened most recently in 7-11 stores across the country. Hackers broke into Citibank’s network ATM machine, snatched the people’s pin numbers and stole some 2 million dollars from a range of bank accounts. ATM crime has become more and more sophisticated as you see an organized crime, for example. That, you know, they’re willing to sometimes invest a large sum of money upfront in order to, compromise, you know, in order to compromise an account or accounts. ATM trade spokesman Kurt Helwig said it was an isolated incident. Still the question: how they do it? 60% ATM machines are all owned by private independent companies. Prosecutors investigated the possibility to cease hackers to deprive ATM computer network owned by card electronics, ceasing the pin codes during the transmission before they ever reach the bank. Citibank tells CNN: “The situation has been resolved there have been no fraudulent transactions since March” Three people believed to be to the deceptive to be in dialed and Citibank says they’ll repay anyone whose accounts made compromised. In the past, ATM’s were compromised by phony calls scanners that cameras recall people repeat punching their pin numbers. This raised the states because hackers can still eliminate their numbers with pin code electronically. The ATM districts say this is an isolated incident affected in tiny percentage of 1 billion yieldly ATM transactions. Newser's accident of mirthNewser Charlotte Green descends into a fit of giggles while announcing a death on Radio 4's Today programme.Descending into a fit of the giggles whilst trying to deliver serious news is a newser's nightmare, but that's what happened to B radio's Charlotte Green today. She fell victim to that performers' enemy "corpsing". The term was first used by theatre folk, but today touched that bastion of middle-class values Radio 4. Here is our arts reporter Stephanie West. In the world of comedy, corpsing has always been an acceptable hazard, for Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, who practically lived to reduce each other to a hip, it was a moment the audience's waited for. But today, unplanned giggles did for the composure of Radio 4. The sedate voice of Charlotte Green, voted the most attractive on the air waves by Radio Times' listeners, was reduced to a strangulated whimper, after she heard the earliest recording of a human voice played in her news bulletin. "The Award winning screen writer Abby Mann has died at the age of 80,he won an Academy Award in 1961 for "Judgment at Nuremberg", Abby, excuse me,sorry....Abby Mann also....." The fight the final news item was about the death of an award-winning screen writer, only added to the horror, but she struggled on for more than 30 seconds more. "....for a film which featured....." Judging by an audible man snort and news, one of the anchors had his head in his hands, we understand Jim Knocktie and Edward Sterton were rendered unable to help. It's ten minutes past eight. Corpsing is Thespian slang for murdering a scene with uncontrollable laughter, but there was sympathy at THE KING`S HEAD Theater in Islington today, where the artistic director described corpsing as contagious as yawning, with a remedy that would surely only have exacerbated Charlotte's woes. One of the techniques to stop yourself from corpsing, if you feel a corpse is coming, obviously you look down, you do anything you can not to corpse and not to pass the contagion on, and one thing you can do is swallow really hard or you can pinch yourself, or you can you know pull your finger, anything to distract your mind from the laughter that's about to erupt from you. And while surrendering to uncontrollable mirth might look like fun as illustrated in Rikky's guy to corpsing here, many performers say, they regard it as a weakness. And it's not till you are there and the camera is switched on ,and something is said and it set you off and you can't stop. "Give my pen." "Yes,take it."bastion: n. If a system or organization is described as a bastion of a particular way of life, it is seen as being important and effective in defending that way of lifecorpsing: n. Corpsing is a theatrical slang term used to describe when an actor breaks character during a scene by laughing or by causing another cast member to laughstrangulated: adj. if someone's voice sounds strangulated, they sound as though their throat is being pressedwhimper: n.A feeble intermittent cry expressive of fear, pain, or distress, a low complaining sound.exacerbate:v.If something exacerbates a problem or bad situation, it makes it worse. contagion:n.If something exacerbates a problem or bad situation, it makes it worse. 200811/54678

Russian President Dmitri Medvedev will be in the ed States in the next few days. His visit will focus on economic and trade matters. The high point of President Medvedev's stay in the ed States will be his visit to Silicon Valley - an area in northern California known for its high-tech companies, venture capitalists and forward-looking entrepreneurs. Experts, such as Robert Legvold from Columbia University, say Mr. Medvedev is trying to generate interest in his plan to create a Russian Silicon Valley in the suburbs of Moscow known as the Skolkova Innovation Initiative."That area of Skolkova, where the Skolkova School of Business and Management is located, has a fair amount of acreage," he said. "So when Medvedev committed himself to the idea of creating a Silicon Valley, and there were a number of parts, different cities in Russia that vied for its location, it was decided to put it in this park. I think the notion is that there will be some link between the businesses and research centers that are created and the school."David Kramer, former senior State Department official in the George W. Bush administration, says the Russian president will be in northern California to try and form business partnerships and to learn how Silicon Valley got started."He's looking for investment. He's looking for expertise and know-how," he said. "He's looking to form consortiums and alliances with the private sector, with the universities." "And the question is how much interest there really will be and how much money there might be, at least from the outside. There's money in Russia that can be provided to fund some of this, but how much money from the West is there in supporting this kind of initiative? Those are questions that don't have answers yet," he added.Skolkova initiativeAnalysts say President Medvedev's idea of creating a Russian Silicon Valley is tied to his broader plan to modernize the country's economy."There is a realization at the end of the day that despite all the profits that Russia got from its sale of oil and gas over the last 10 years, that unless it modernizes its economy and reforms it, it will be a declining power," said John Parker [expressing his own, personal views] with the National Defense University. "So there is what seems to be a growing body of opinion in Russia among leadership circles that Russia has to start investing in its own technology sector."For that to work, Parker says the Skolkova initiative must be copied throughout Russia. "The danger is that it would just be a very confined experiment," he said. "You really need system-wide Skolkovas - Silicon Valley - otherwise it ends up just like under Catherine the Great when they imported a lot of German tradesmen and planted them in various settlements - but they were fairly self-contained. To really do the trick, Skolkova can't be self-contained. Its rules have to apply to all of Russian society, to all of Russia's economy."After visiting Silicon Valley, President Medvedev comes to Washington for a brief summit with President Barack Obama. Bilateral relationsExperts such as David Kramer say relations between the two countries are good. "The Obama administration touts the U.S.-Russian relationship as one of its major foreign policy successes," he said. "I wonder whether that says more about the rest of its foreign policy than about the U.S.-Russian relationship." Experts say the two sides also will discuss a host of other issues, including arms control after the recent signing of the New START Treaty, what to do about Iran following tougher ed Nations sanctions, as well as trade and economic questions."But having said that, relations are certainly better than they were at the end of 2008, when there were significant tensions between Moscow and Washington in the aftermath of the Russia-Georgia war. And so the tone and environment are much better than they were," he continued.

An annual Palestinian harvest means trouble in the occupied territories. Jewish settlers attacked two news photographers covering the Palestinian olive harvest in the West Bank. Video showed four Israelis move into a grove near their settlement where Palestinians were picking olives with the help of Israeli and foreign supporters. The settlers punched and kicked the Palestinian photographers and grabbed one of their cameras. They also assaulted a British activist. One of the photographers threw stones at the settlers. It was the latest in a series of attempts by militant settlers to disrupt the annual olive harvest which is vital to the Palestinian economy. Israeli police intervened and broke up the brawl. There were no serious injuries and the settlers were allowed to walk away. Palestinian parliamentarian Moustafa Barghouti was there. Palestinian villagers are encountering a terrible war by the Israeli illegal settlers and the Israeli army against their trees, against their land," he said. "We are here to help them in a peaceful, non-violent resistance to maintain their land." The settlers say disrupting the olive harvest is a legitimate response to repeated Palestinian vandalism and attacks. 200810/53322

Mexican Officials May Have Discovered Motive for Killing of US Citizens墨西哥官员可能得知美国公民被杀原因In Juarez, Mexico, authorities say a suspect they detained last week in connection with the March 13 murder of two US citizens has told them the reason for the killing may have to do with treatment of jailed gang members across the border in El Paso, Texas. One of the victims worked as a jailer in El Paso. Investigators in Mexico say the detained suspect Ricardo Valles de la Rosa, 45, claims the ambush of a US couple near the Juarez city hall on Saturday, March 13, was carried out as an act of retribution against Arthur Redelfs, who worked as an El Paso County Sheriff's detention officer and was accused by gang members of mistreating their compatriots there. Redelfs and his pregnant wife, Lesley, who worked at the US consulate in Juarez, died in their white sport utility vehicle after being shot multiple times. Around the same time, a Mexican man who had been at a social event with the couple just minutes before was killed in similar fashion at another location. According to Mexican authorities the second victim was also in a white sport utility vehicle and since the gunmen were not sure which one was Redelf's car, they decided to kill the occupants of both vehicles. Such callousness is not unusual in Juarez, where drug-related violence has claimed the lives of more than four thousand, 800 people since 2008. The violence has claimed around 600 victims so far this year. El Paso County Sheriff's Department spokespersons say they have no information to collaborate the reports coming out of Mexico, but they have said that Redelfs was a well-respected professional. The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and other federal law enforcement agencies are providing assistance to Mexican authorities in this investigation, but they have declined to comment on the developments in Mexico. 201004/100443

Britons are smiles ahead in Europe's happy leagueHere’s a reason to rejoice despite the nation's woes: Britons are the happiest people in Europe.Research shows that we smile more than our continental cousins, with only the Spanish, known for their sunny outlook, and the Italians, with their love of life, coming close. The French and Germans, some might say perhaps not surprisingly, fare poorly in the smile stakes.Bottom of the pile are the Poles, who it seems are twice as reluctant to crack a smile as Britons.Piotr Szarota, a psychologist at the Polish Academy of Sciences, analysed 2,000 photos accompanying internet messages sent by men and women from nine European countries. He found the residents of Eastern bloc nations to smile less often than those in the West, with the Poles the grimmest of the lot. However, differences in quality of life cannot fully explain the results, with France and Germany both sitting towards the bottom of the league table. With fewer than half the French and Germans pictured smiling, they were more morose than the Slovenians and the Czechs. This may be because, like the Poles, the French and Germans place a premium on sincerity, preferring to show their true feelings, rather than mask them with a smile. In contrast, Dr Szarota said that Britons, who topped the table with more than 70 percent of those pictured smiling, may be too polite to show how they really feel.Vocabulary:in the ... stakes: used to say how much of a particular quality a person has, as if they were in a competition in which some people are more successful than others 的话,论……crack a smile: 展颜微笑league table: a list that shows how successful an organization such as a sports team or a business is when it is compared to other similar organizations(排名表)背单词 — 装英语词汇201007/109633
